DMS BI-ANNUAL eNEWS

November 2006

WELCOME NOTE

Welcome to the November 2006 Edition of the DMS eNEWS.

Preparations are well underway for the 6th DMS Annual Workshops in February 2007, to coincide once again with AIME.  We have a number of DMCs joining us for the first time including those newest to the DMS portfolio – Connections Mauritius and Walpax Brazil. Joining them will be 30+ of our DMCs including a representative from every Pacific World destination in Asia!

As the quoting season begins in earnest, please make a point of visiting our website www.destinationmarketing.com.au to have a look at the many sample itineraries and images recently updated.  DMS also has available on request a cost comparison of the various destinations (both in AUD and NZD), so if you would like us to send you a copy, please contact us. These sample itineraries and cost comparisons are a great tool to present to your clients to begin destination discussions – saving you time not preparing proposals for destinations outside your client’s budget!

This issue, we have slightly changed the format of the newsletter and divided the destination updates into geographic regions to make it easier for you to read up on the latest updates. Enjoy!

We look forward to working with you for the remainder of 2006 and well into the future!

Sue Gaddes
Director of Sales

VAT RECLAIM – GOOD FOR WORLD CUP!
For any groups you are planning or have recently operated to France or the UK, there is a substantial amount of VAT that may be reclaimable. Don’t wait until after the event – find out any special requirements before you travel.

With many corporate clients heading to France and the UK for the World Cup in September/October 2007 – make sure you do not miss out.

THE DEADLINE FOR LODGING CLAIMS FOR ANY UK PROGRAMS operated 1July 2005 to 30 June 2006 is 31 DECEMBER 2006.  DON’T DELAY!

SALE OF PACIFIC WORLD
In July 2006, Pacific World was sold to UK based tourism company, First Choice.  This sale will not alter any of the day to day operations of the network with the personnel in the various offices remaining unchanged. Bob Guy and Jacques Arnoux will remain as joint Managing Directors.  The company name will not change, nor does the 100% commitment to service! It only becomes better from here.
