Mehrangarh Fort Themed Dinner
The Mehrangarh Fort, located in Jodhpur city in Rajasthan state, is one
of the largest forts and a famous tourist place in India. Cox & Kings
suggests the Mehrangarh Fort Themed Dinner to give delegates an
understanding of the royalty and splendour of Rajasthan.
This unique dining option includes:
- A Select Bar
- Entertainment
- Fireworks
- Dinner
- Costumes for delegates with males provided with Rajasthani turbans
(safas) and females given veils (chunnis)
Guests are greeted at Jaipol with guards in ceremonial uniform and a
traditional welcome dance performance on the verandah while welcome
drinks are served.
The Bakya sounds the start of the procession which is led by a group of
musicians. During the procession, war drums are played as guests pass
the original gate of Mehrangarh Fort (Rao Jodhaji ka Falsaand) and enter
Loha Pol where they are showered with rose petals. The procession winds
its way to Suraj Pol where a full bar setup and a tribal performance
(Tera Tali) awaits guests.
The procession restarts and moves towards Nagnechia Mata Temple. On
reaching the staircase, the uplifting Indian musical beat being played
stops and the procession plays in low pitch. Guards in ceremonial dress
lead the procession and stop one by one near each highlighted cannon of
the fort until the procession reaches the ancient ruins of Fateh Mahal.
As the night unfolds, the traditional Rajasthani musicians (Langas),
begin their performance while drinks and snacks are served.
After cocktails, guests are escorted to the dinner venue with
surrounding views of Jodhpur city, magnificent carved wooden wall art
(jharokas) and galleries of Mehrangarh Fort.
The menu style can either be a traditional Rajasthani Thali or a buffet
setup. During dinner guests are serenaded by Rajasthani musicians
playing a variety of instruments including a whistle (algoja), a
stringed instrument (sarangi), a small harp (morchang) and a fiddle
(ravanhatta)
After dinner, guests are escorted back by the Ravanhatta player to the
lift terrace where they witness a spectacular fireworks display
specially arranged for them. After the show, guests are escorted back to
the waiting coaches/cars and transported back to their hotel.

Warisan Square is the newest and trendiest shopping experience in

Kiulu White Water Rafting
Pacific World Destination Malaysia can organise a river journey down
Grade One and Two rapids in rubber paddle rafts. As well as enjoying the
fun of rafting, strong teamwork is required to paddle and steer the
rafts and complete challenges teams face along the way. It's a
scenic journey along the river, passing through Borneo rainforest,

Formula One Singapore, 24 – 28 September 2008
Singapore will be playing host to the Formula One Street Race, adding a
new dimension to this bustling city. It is touted to most likely be the
world’s first night race with a 5.2km circuit embracing the city centre
and covering iconic installations such as The Esplanade Theatres on the
Bay, the soon-to-be-completed Singapore Flyer, The Fullerton Hotel, The
Marina Bay Hotels, Raffles The Plaza and Raffles Hotel Singapore.
While most hotels are still to confirm their rates during this period,
the Singapore Government has announced there will be a levy of 30% on
room rates for trackside hotels and 20% on other tourist hotels. This
will be charged for accommodation during the period 24-28 September
2008.

Airport Updates

subregion. The new terminal has opened at Chiang Mai International
Airport, doubling its capacity to 6.5 million passengers a year.
Bangkok Airways’ expansion of Samui Airport is another exciting change.
The new resort style airport heralds the concept of the “boutique
airline”. The new airport will now feature a domestic and international
departure hall with 6 terminals that can accommodate 192,000 passengers
per day. The domestic terminal is due to start operating next March and
the international terminal in early April.
